Merger Announcement:
We are pleased to announce the merger of two of Lancaster County’s most client-centered Certified Public Accounting Firms, Bertz & Company, LLP, founded in 1945, and Hess & Hess, LLC, founded in 1978, into Bertz, Hess & Company, LLP. The combined firm will have 30 team members.
Robert Bertz, Managing Partner of the new firm said “In an environment of ever increasing tax and auditing complexity, we are excited to bring our many decades of experience together. We will continue our commitment to having working partners whose deep relationships with clients will drive our priorities. It is the overwhelming focus of our combined firm to deepen the bonds we have with each and every client that we serve.”
The combined entities will be a full service Certified Public Accounting firm whose professional offerings will include personal, fiduciary and corporate tax, corporate and non-profit auditing, payroll processing services, estate planning, information technology services, business management and financial consulting.
According to Jack Hess, the managing partner of Hess & Hess, LLC, “We are eager to begin tax season with our more robust resources. We are appreciative of the ongoing support of our tremendous clients. Throughout the merger transition our clients will remain our number one priority. We will continue to deliver the absolute highest quality of work and service.”
For the immediate future the firm will maintain two Lancaster locations, East King Street in the City of Lancaster and Hempland Road in East Hempfield Township.
The partners of the combined firm will be the same as was the case at the individual firms, namely: Robert Bertz, Jack Hess, Scott Frick, Michelle Atwater, David Fretz and Laura Bender. The firm’s managing partner will be Robert Bertz.
